INF UK held a special Nepal Day Conference at Bessacarr Evangelical Church in Doncaster yesterday.

Surprising numbers of Nepali people live in the Doncaster area, and Doncaster is also the home town of INF’s Ina Herd.

Ina worked with INF in Nepal for almost thirty years between 1970 and 1997.

She was one of the main speakers at the Nepal Day Conference, together with Nepali pastoral worker Abraham Shrestha who travelled from his home in Northern Ireland especially in order to be able to attend the event. The Conference included praise and worship in both English and Nepali, interviews with local Nepali people, presentations about INF’s health and development work in Nepal, prayer, and food and refreshments.

‘It was a brilliant day,’ says INF UK CEO John Reynolds.

‘I think everyone in the Nepali community in Doncaster knows and loves Ina Herd because of the way she has reached out to Nepalis and made them feel welcome.’
