The Steven family have been living in Pokhara since 2015. It’s been a busy time for their family over the past few months. Terry, serving as INF’s Finance Advisor, has been working hard to implement INF’s new finance system. Julie has continued to be involved in a local Christian organisation [GLOW] that offers a skills training and discipleship program for disadvantaged women, and has been supporting four newly arrived expatriate families as they settle into life in Nepal. INF’s school, the Pokhara Study Centre [PSC], which Daniel and Micah Steven attend, is thriving with more than thirty new students. The family are also currently in Thailand to await new visas and enjoy some rest. We asked them about their recent highlights.

What has been a recent highlight, Julie?

“Visiting the women at GLOW and supporting the staff team there is a privilege. I’m always encouraged when I hear stories of transformation through GLOW’s courses. The women not only learn skills to generate income, but find themselves in a safe place to open up and support each other.”

How about for you, Terry?

“Serving in Nepal alongside the finance team has been a great opportunity to help build capacity in staff and improve their financial systems. Implementing the new financial software and training the team has been a challenging process but hopefully one that will have a lasting impact. Ultimately we want to see INF more financially sustainable so that it can continue its work.”

How are the boys doing?

“Our boys really thrive here in Nepal when they have a school like PSC to attend. Our teachers are such a precious resource to us, enabling us to serve here.”
