Ear conditions can have a significant impact on an individual’s social wellbeing as well as their health. Many Nepali people live in remote, rural areas, where local health facilities cannot give the care they need. INF’s Ear Diseases and Hearing [EDH] services seek to provide for such people.
Primarily based in the Ear Centre at the Green Pastures Hospital some EDH services are also offered as part of INF’s Medical Surgical Outreach. EDH work involves everything from basic health care for infections to complicated surgery that restores hearing; the prescription of hearing aids to speech therapy services.
INF began running yearly ear camps in remote locations across the West and Mid-West Regions of Nepal in 1997, in 2015 a specialist Ear Centre was opening at Green Pastures Hospital providing services throughout the year, and training to health professionals
