We are looking for mature Christians to serve in Nepal, combining faith and professional skills to support local colleagues. A one-year commitment allows for language learning and cultural understanding, with placements arranged through partner agencies and self-funded. Opportunities exist for those with relevant qualifications and experience, with some short-term options to share skills.

What is involved?
We are looking for people who can serve for at least 1 year. This gives you the opportunity to learn the language and gain understanding about the culture so that you can work effectively with your Nepali and expatriate colleagues.
You will be seconded to INF through one of our partner agencies. No salary or financial renumeration is given by INF, so you will need to work with your agency regarding the funding of your placement.
You will be part of a small team of expatriate volunteers who fellowship together and serve mostly in Pokhara (and some parts of Western of Nepal).
Expatriates also participate in local Nepali churches. You will be able to demonstrate your faith through your words and deeds, especially by living-out INF’s values; Love, Service, Excellence and Integrity.

can I do?
The Government of Nepal provides work visas for people who have studied to Master’s degree level in a relevant subject and have at least five years of experience in specific technical areas. More information about our current priorities is given below.

Can I come short-term?
According to government regulations, you are not allowed to work for INF unless you have an official work visa. However, even if you are unable to serve longer-term, there may be opportunities for you to share skills in specific technical areas. Alternatively, it may be possible to spend time in some of the departments as a learning experience. Please contact us if you would like to know more.

Long term
If you’re ready for a longer-term placement, INF offers extended roles across healthcare, community development, and advocacy—in areas like monitoring and evaluation, programme leadership, or health systems strengthening. These immersive placements allow you to build deep partnerships, mentor local teams, and contribute to sustained transformation in western Nepal.
Medium term
Are you skilled in design, communications, or IT? INF needs creative minds to help strengthen digital and visual tools—whether redesigning hospital materials, improving data systems, or building training modules. Your work will shape how health programmes are delivered and leave a lasting impact.
Short term
Are you a qualified doctor or nurse seeking a short-term, high-impact opportunity? INF Nepal welcomes volunteers to support hospitals and rural clinics—from Green Pastures in Pokhara to remote posts. Help with triage, procedures, health education, and more. Whether shadowing specialists or assisting with wound care, your skills can make a real difference in just weeks.
